The American Nurses Association has a large group of certification review exams that they offer to nurses in various fields. Of that list Petra Consultants has certified educators on staff to offer programs to your staff for the following ANA courses. We offer other certification review programs also listed further down on this page.
For each Certification Exam you will find an Overview, Course Content and Agenda for each exam.
If you would like to have one of these programs offered on-site at your facility or in your area, contact our nursing division via email. We will tailor the program to meet the needs of your staff and arm them with the knowledge and confidence needed to pass a certification exam. Nursing Administration-Acute Care |
The American Nurses Association offers two Nursing Administration Programs. One program is for Basic Certification and the second program is for Advanced Certification. There are specific educational requirements for each of these certifications programs. Even if you meet the educational requirements for the advanced program, you still must meet the experience requirements. If you are not sure which exam you qualify to take review this chart. Nurse Executive Chart 1. After review of the attached chart, you are still unsure, please call our office and ask to speak with one of the consultants. They will discuss the requirements with you. Or you can send an email to nursing@petraconsultants.net and the Director of Nursing Programs or one of the Nursing Consultants will respond to your questions.
If you facility has joined the “Journey to Excellence” or has applied to be reviewed for Magnet Status or if your dream job is in a Magnet Facility, you need to secure certification in your specialty area. AONE Nursing Administration
Certification Review Courses |
The American Organization of Nurse Executives’ Association has two nursing management certification review courses. Unlike the ANA Certification Exams, the registration process is easier and done completely online with instant approval. The Eligibility requirements are less for the AONE Exams.
The AONE exams cover different course contents. Even if you currently hold certification by ANA for Nursing Administration, you may want to consider AONE certification, especially if you work in or you are planning to work in a For-Profit Organization or a Corporate Position.
Petra Consultants, Inc. and one other company have designed review courses for these exams. These two companies are the only ones who worked on the joint task force with AACN and AONE regarding these certification programs and review classes.
